Financial Assistance Distributed Among Flood-Affected People in Sivasagar
Under the supervision of the Assam State Legal Services Authority (ASLSA), the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Sivasagar, in collaboration with the Asomiya Club, Tezpur, organised a financial assistance distribution programme for flood-affected people today at No. 233 Nimaijan Primary School in Sivasagar.
The programme was attended by Hon’ble Justice Michael Zothankhuma of the Gauhati High Court and Executive Chairman of the Assam State Legal Services Authority; Hon’ble Debashish Bhattacharyya, Member Secretary, Assam State Legal Services Authority; Hon’ble Adri Bhattacharyya, District and Sessions Judge and Chairperson of the District Legal Services Authority, Sivasagar; and Hon’ble Soumar Jyoti Dutta, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Sivasagar.
It may be mentioned that the District Legal Services Authority, Sivasagar, received around Rs. 2,23,101 towards flood relief with the support of Aruna Devi, Advisor to Asomiya Club, Tezpur.
During today’s programme, cheques were distributed among the flood-affected people as financial assistance, extending a helping hand to those facing hardship due to the devastating floods. The initiative by the Legal Services Authority was aimed at providing much-needed support to the affected families during this difficult time.
The programme also witnessed the active participation and presence of local residents. With the cooperation of the local community and under the supervision and management of the Headmaster of the school, the programme was successfully conducted in the presence of around 100 people.
