સુરતમાં પીળા અને દૂષિત પાણીની ફરિયાદો વચ્ચે મનપા હરકતમાં આવી છે. પીવાના પાણીની ગુણવત્તા સુધારવા ઉકાઈ ડેમમાંથી તાપી નદીમાં પાણી છોડવાનો જથ્થો વધારી ૧૧,૯૬૦ ક્યુસેક કરવામાં આવ્યો છે. જેના કારણે વીયર કમ કોઝવેની જળસપાટી ૫.૬૭ મીટરે પહોંચી છે. હવે સવાલ એ છે કે સુરતીઓને પીળા પાણીની સમસ્યામાંથી મુક્તિ ક્યારે મળશે?
सूरत में पीले और दूषित पानी की शिकायतों के बीच नगर निगम हरकत में आया है। पीने के पानी की गुणवत्ता सुधारने के लिए उकाई डैम से तापी नदी में पानी छोड़ने की मात्रा बढ़ाकर 11,960 क्यूसेक कर दी गई है। इसके चलते वियर कम कॉजवे का जलस्तर 5.67 मीटर तक पहुंच गया है। अब सवाल यह है कि सूरतवासियों को पीले पानी की समस्या से कब राहत मिलेगी?
