Electric Scooter Catches Fire in Rourkela’s Basanti Colony
Rourkela, September 11 (SatyaNewsAlert): An electric scooter caught fire while on the move in Basanti Colony, Rourkela, yesterday, leaving the vehicle completely gutted.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident. The repeated incidents of electric scooters catching fire, however, have raised concerns over the safety of battery-powered two-wheelers.
A proper investigation is needed to determine the exact cause of such fires and whether there are any issues related to the battery, charging system or manufacturing quality. Authorities concerned should carry out necessary inspections to prevent similar incidents in the future.
#SafetyCaution: Riders should avoid using a scooter if the battery shows signs of swelling, overheating, unusual smell or leakage. Use only the manufacturer-recommended charger, avoid overcharging, and do not charge the vehicle immediately after a long or strenuous ride. If smoke or fire is noticed, move away from the scooter immediately and call the fire service rather than attempting to handle the burning battery yourself.
