The complex is equipped with modern facilities for football, athletics and swimming, aimed at providing young athletes with better opportunities to develop their sporting skills.
The newly inaugurated facility is expected to encourage greater participation in sports and help nurture emerging talent from Naharkatia and neighbouring areas. With modern infrastructure and improved training opportunities, the complex aims to support aspiring sportspersons in preparing for competitions at the state, national and international levels.
Alongside the multi-sports complex, an international-standard cricket stadium constructed under the initiative of the Assam Cricket Association is also expected to give a boost to cricket in the region. The facility is set to expand opportunities for local cricketers and contribute to the development of the sport in Upper Assam.
The state government aims to strengthen sports infrastructure across Assam and ensure that talented youngsters from both rural and urban areas have access to quality training facilities. The initiatives form part of the broader effort to promote sporting excellence, identify emerging talent and enable athletes from the state to compete at higher levels.
