#News | Banking services were aff*cted in Dibrugarh on Friday as employees and officers of various banks joined the nationwide one-day str!ke called by the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU).
Bank employees staged dem*nstrations outside branches, including the Punjab National Bank Circle Office in Dibrugarh, raising sl*gans and displaying banners demanding the implementation of a five-day banking week. The unions also raised concerns over the revised Performance Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme and other pending service-related demands.
The str!ke affected several routine banking services, including cash transactions, cheque processing and other branch-level operations. However, digital banking services such as UPI, mobile banking and internet banking continued to remain available.
The UFBU has w@rned of further industrial action if the demands are not addressed.
