Biramitrapur Municipality Launches Special Drive Against Encroachment and Illegal Parking
Biramitrapur, October 1 (SatyaNewsAlert): In a major step towards ensuring smoother traffic movement and safer roads, the Biramitrapur Municipality has launched a special enforcement drive against illegal parking and roadside encroachments in the town.
The initiative aims to make Biramitrapur free from unauthorised encroachments, ease traffic congestion and reduce the risk of road accidents. The drive began on Wednesday, with municipal authorities taking action against vehicles and roadside establishments obstructing public roads.
Several stretches of National Highway-143 and roads maintained by the Public Works Department (PWD) in Biramitrapur have been facing persistent encroachment problems. Vehicles parked along roadsides, roadside vending stalls and materials placed on public roads have significantly reduced the available road space, creating difficulties for commuters and increasing the risk of accidents.
Taking note of the situation, the municipal authorities conducted inspections and an enforcement drive in different parts of the town. Vehicles parked along roadsides for extended periods were removed, while street vendors and others occupying public spaces were sensitised and warned against obstructing roads.
Municipal officials stated that the special drive would not be confined to National Highway-143 alone. Similar inspections and enforcement measures will continue on various roads within the town to prevent illegal parking and unauthorised encroachments.
The initiative is part of the municipality's efforts to improve road safety, streamline traffic movement and provide a safer and more convenient commuting experience for residents.
The effectiveness of the campaign and its impact on reducing encroachments and improving road conditions will be closely watched by the people of Biramitrapur in the coming days.
