
#News | A newly established Bl*od Bank Block was inaugurated at Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH), Dibrugarh on 10th September, marking a significant step towards strengthening blood storage and transfusion services at the premier medical institution of Upper Assam.
Dibrugarh MLA Prasanta Phukan visited AMCH on the occasion of the inauguration and inspected the newly established facility. The new Bl*od Bank Block has been developed with upgraded infrastructure, modern equipment and advanced technology to enhance the collection, storage and supply of bl*od and blo*d components.
The facility is expected to provide improved and more efficient transfusion support to patients undergoing treatment at AMCH, particularly those requiring urgent bl*od during surgeries, emergencies and other critical medical conditions. It is also expected to strengthen the hospital’s capacity to manage bl*od requirements for patients from Dibrugarh and neighbouring districts.
During the programme, MLA Prasanta Phukan was accompanied by AMCH Principal Dr. Sanjeev Kakoti along with members of the medical, administrative and healthcare teams. Phukan congratulated the entire AMCH family on the inauguration of the new Bl*od Bank Block and appreciated the efforts being made to upgrade healthcare infrastructure at the institution.
The inauguration of the facility is being viewed as an important addition to AMCH’s healthcare infrastructure and is expected to contribute towards ensuring timely availability of bl*od and improving patient care and transfusion services across Upper Assam.
