Plantsite Police Seize 15 Grams of Heroin, Arrest 32-Year-Old Man in Rourkela
Rourkela, October 1, 2026 (SatyaNewsAlert): In a crackdown on the illegal drug trade, Plantsite Police detected an NDPS case and seized 15 grams of suspected heroin from a 32-year-old man at Nandapada Road in Nayabazar, Rourkela, on September 30, 2026.
According to police sources, SI Sidhartha Pradhan, along with other police personnel, was conducting evening patrolling in the Plantsite Police Station area when he received reliable information about the alleged possession and sale of heroin.
Acting on the information, the police team reached Nandapada Road in Nayabazar and allegedly caught Pintu Nag (32), son of Late Durge Nag, a resident of Sector-3 Bolangir Basti under Sector-3 Police Station in Rourkela, while he was reportedly in possession of heroin intended for illegal sale.
Police seized 15 grams of contraband heroin and a blue-coloured keypad mobile phone of ACE company from his possession.
Preliminary information suggests that the accused was allegedly involved in selling the banned narcotic substance for unlawful financial gain, reportedly targeting unsuspecting people, including school and college students.
An NDPS case has been registered, and further investigation is underway to ascertain the source of the contraband and determine whether other individuals are involved in the illegal drug trade.
