#Dibrugarh | Ser!ous all*gations have surfaced against the Milan Nagar branch of Shriram Finance in Dibrugarh after local resident Chinmoy Gogoi all*gedly discovered multiple loan accounts linked to his name without his knowledge or consent.
According to Gogoi, he had earlier availed a loan of approximately ₹3.80 lakh from Shriram Finance in 2023. However, when he recently approached another bank for a fresh loan, the bank reportedly checked his CIBIL credit report and informed him that around 6–7 loan accounts associated with Shriram Finance were showing against his name.
Gogoi allegedly claims that he was unaware of these additional loan accounts and had not authorised such transactions. The discovery has raised concerns regarding the alleged use of personal documents, customer verification procedures and the process followed during loan applications.
The matter could have significant implications for Gogoi’s credit score and future access to financial services if the accounts are indeed found to have been opened without his consent.
The case highlights the importance of regularly checking CIBIL/credit reports and immediately reporting any unknown loan or credit account appearing in one’s name.
