#Dibrugarh | Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH), Dibrugarh, observed the 578th birth anniversary of Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardeva with a special cultural programme at the AMCH Namghar, last night.
As part of the celebrations, a Bhaona titled “Draupadir Bostrohoron – Sakunir Protisodh” was performed, showcasing the rich tradition of Assamese devotional theatre and highlighting episodes from the Mahabharata.
The programme brought together students, doctors, faculty members and staff of Assam Medical College, providing an opportunity to celebrate Srimanta Sankardeva’s enduring contribution to Assamese culture, literature and the Neo-Vaishnavite movement.
The observance reflected the institution’s continued efforts to preserve and promote Assam’s rich cultural heritage alongside its academic and medical activities.
