Rourkela Steel Plant Cancels Allocation of Sector-21 Quarter to NGO, Seals Premises
Rourkela, August 24: The Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) City Administration Department on Monday cancelled the allotment of a B/1 quarter in Sector-21, Rourkela, which had reportedly been allotted to an NGO named Being Human, and took possession of the premises after sealing it.
The action was reportedly taken following allegations that the organisation had violated the terms of the lease agreement by carrying out unauthorised construction on the premises.
According to sources, the City Services Department had issued a show-cause notice to the organisation on August 12, seeking an explanation over the alleged violation.
Following the proceedings, the RSP authorities cancelled the allotment, sealed the quarter and took it back into their possession.
The quarter has also reportedly come under scrutiny over its alleged links with a suspended youth BJP leader. However, the exact nature of the alleged link and the role of the individuals concerned have not been officially clarified.
