On 23.08.2026, based on information received during the detailed interrogation of
surrendered Naxals regarding the presence of a concealed Maoist dump in Silkuta Reserve Forest
(RF) under U/PS K. Balang, a search and area domination operation was launched by a joint
team of DVF and BDDS.
During the course of the operation, the joint team conducted a thorough search of the
forest area and detected and recovered a concealed dump containing arms and ammunition,
explosives, Maoist literature, and various Maoist camp-related articles, as detailed below.
The recovered items were secured and taken into possession as per procedure. The
recovery of the concealed dump is a significant achievement in the ongoing efforts to dismantle
Maoist networks and deny them access to arms, ammunition, explosives, and other logistical
resources.
It is pertinent to mention that, under the leadership of the Hon’ble Union Home Minister
and the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha, the State of Odisha was declared Naxal-free on
31.03.2026. The recovery further reflects the continued efforts of the security forces towards
