Special Meeting to be Held Tomorrow at Kumarhatti for Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj’s 650th Birth Anniversary
Preparations for the Grand Yatra from Punjab to Varanasi to be Finalised: Dr. Sikander Kumar
Shimla: A crucial meeting will be held on November 6, 2026, at Hotel New Vaidik, Kumarhatti, Solan district, to finalise preparations for the grand yatra proposed from Punjab to Varanasi on the occasion of the 650th birth anniversary of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj. The yatra is being organised under the ‘Samrasta Sankalp Abhiyan’ launched by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
The information was shared by Rajya Sabha MP, BJP Himachal Pradesh State General Secretary and State Convenor of the Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj 650th Birth Anniversary Campaign, Dr. Sikander Kumar.
Dr. Sikander Kumar said that BJP National Vice President and National Convenor of the campaign, Lal Singh Arya, will be specially present at the meeting and provide guidance regarding the campaign and the proposed yatra.
The meeting will also be attended by Purushottam Guleria, In-charge of Shimla Parliamentary Constituency; Tilak Raj Sharma, In-charge of Mandi Parliamentary Constituency; Sumeet Sharma, In-charge of Hamirpur Parliamentary Constituency; Pawan Kajal, In-charge of Kangra Parliamentary Constituency; Dr. Rajiv Saizal, former minister; Ratan Singh Pal, Solan District BJP President; Dheeraj Gupta, Sirmaur District BJP President; along with the complete district and mandal teams of Sirmaur and Solan districts associated with the campaign.
Dr. Sikander Kumar said the special yatra will begin from Punjab and enter Himachal Pradesh via Chandigarh, with the objective of taking the message of social harmony, equality and brotherhood propagated by Sant Ravidas Ji Maharaj to people across the region.
He said that during the meeting, detailed discussions will be held on the welcome arrangements, halts and various programmes to be organised during the yatra in Himachal Pradesh. The meeting will also give a final shape to the preparations for the yatra.
Dr. Sikander Kumar said the teachings of Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj continue to inspire society towards equality, brotherhood and social unity. Through the ‘Samrasta Sankalp Abhiyan’, the BJP is working to take these values and messages to every section of society.
