The book “The Life and Times of Maharao Umed Singh II of Kotah” was formally launched at Darbar Hall, Umed Bhawan Palace, @umedbhawankotah Kota, celebrating the life, personality, visionary leadership and legacy of former Maharao Umed Singh II.
The book has been published by Rao Madho Singh Museum Trust @kotahgarh and was written by the late historian Dr. Jagat Narayan Srivastava. The original Hindi work has been translated into English by Udai Singh Rathore. The book brings an important chapter of Kota’s royal history to a wider audience.
Historian Vikram Sampath graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The event was also attended by members of the former royal family, including Uttardevi ji, Ijyraj Singh ji, Kalpana Devi ji, Bhawani Kumari Mehtab Vardhman, Jaydev, Jay Singh, Indrani Devi and Abhimanyu Singh, along with Nikhilesh Sethi, Dilip Singh, historian Firoz Ahmed, Dr. Arvind Saxena, Rao Madho Singh Museum curator Ashutosh Dadhich, Gauravsen Jhala and Dr. Pradeep Singh Godh.
A book preserving the story of a ruler, an era and a legacy that continues to shape the historical identity of Kota.
