Patna Protest Over KYP SDC Renewal, 17,000 Jobs Feared at Risk
Patna, August 25, 2026: A protest was held in Patna today over the uncertainty surrounding the renewal of Skill Development Centers (SDCs) operating under Bihar’s Kushal Yuva Programme (KYP)
Protesters demanded that the government immediately begin the SDC renewal process and reopen admissions for new batches. They claimed that if the centers remain closed, around 17,000 people could lose their employment
KYP has reportedly recorded more than 32 lakh admissions and 25 lakh certified trainees since its launch in 2016.
Criticising the government’s move, protesters said that shutting down skill-development centers is a setback for both youth employment and skill development in Bihar. They urged the government to protect the jobs of those associated with the centers and ensure that young people continue to get access to affordable skill training.

पटना, 25 अगस्त 2026: बिहार में कुशल युवा कार्यक्रम (KYP)** के तहत संचालित Skill Development Centers (SDCs) के नवीनीकरण को लेकर आज पटना में विरोध प्रदर्शन हुआ। प्रदर्शनकारियों ने सरकार से SDCs के renewal की प्रक्रिया जल्द शुरू करने और नए बैच की admission प्रक्रिया बहाल करने की मांग की।
प्रदर्शनकारियों का दावा है कि SDCs के बंद होने से करीब 17,000 लोगों के रोजगार पर संकट आ सकता है। उनका कहना है कि KYP के जरिए अब तक 32 लाख से अधिक admissions और 25 लाख से अधिक युवाओं को certification मिला है।
प्रदर्शनकारियों ने सरकार के इस कदम पर सवाल उठाते हुए कहा कि रोजगार और skill development को बढ़ावा देने वाले केंद्रों को बंद करने के बजाय सरकार को उन्हें मजबूत करना चाहिए। सरकार से जल्द फैसला लेकर प्रशिक्षण केंद्रों और उनसे जुड़े रोजगार को बचाने की मांग की गई।
