A horrific road accident on Hailakandi town bypass road left several school students injured after a head-on collision between an e-rickshaw (AS 24 ER 4274) and an auto-rickshaw (AS 24 AC 2598). Reports suggest that more than four students were traveling in the e-rickshaw at the time of the accident. According to eyewitnesses, the collision was severe, causing serious injuries to the students traveling in the e-rickshaw, while the auto-rickshaw reportedly fell into a roadside low-lying area after the impact. Local residents immediately rushed to the scene and rescued the injured, who were later shifted to S.K. Roy Civil Hospital in Hailakandi for treatment. Residents have alleged that damaged sections of the Hailakandi bypass road, along with reckless driving, are major reasons behind the increasing number of accidents in the area. Police reached the spot, brought the situation under control, seized the two vehicles involved, and launched an investigation.
