The long-standing electricity and low-voltage issues faced by the residents of Lala Vivekananda Road have finally found a permanent solution. Keeping the difficulties of the local people in mind, under the strong leadership of our respected MLA Dr. Milan Das, with the sincere support of Ward No. 8 Commissioner Namita Bhattacharjee, and through the special initiative of Lala Municipal Vice Chairman Sanatanba Sinha, a new electricity transformer was inaugurated today in front of Kalibari on Vivekananda Road.

Present at this development initiative of Ward No. 8 were Municipal Vice Chairman Sanatanba Sinha, Abu Bhattacharjee representing Ward No. 8 Commissioner Namita Bhattacharjee, and conscious members of the local community.

With the installation of this new transformer, power interruptions and low-voltage problems in Vivekananda Road and nearby areas are expected to be significantly reduced, bringing relief and comfort to residents. Seed Distribution Program Begins Under Agriculture Minister’s Directive; MLA Warns Corrupt Individuals of Jail.....

Following the Agriculture Minister’s directive, the Agriculture Department has launched a seed distribution program. Today, at an official ceremony held at the Hailakandi District Agriculture Office, agricultural seeds were distributed free of cost to 200 farmers on behalf of the government.

The event, organized in the presence of the media, was attended by Hailakandi MLA Dr-Milon Das as the chief guest. He personally distributed seeds among the farmers and urged them to fully utilize various government agricultural schemes and benefits while focusing on more productive farming practices.

Dr. Das clearly stated that the government is committed to ensuring that all measures taken in the interest of farmers reach genuine beneficiaries and contribute to improving farmers’ financial conditions through increased agricultural production.

At the same time, he issued a strong warning, saying that corruption or irregularities within the Agriculture Department would not be tolerated under any circumstances. He added that, if necessary, middlemen or corrupt individuals would have to face imprisonment.

The event was also attended by District Agriculture Officer Manoj Baishya, along with other officials and employees of the Agriculture Department.

হাইলাকান্দি বাইপাসে বড়সড় দুর্ঘটনা, আহত স্কুল ছাত্র-ছাত্রীদের হাসপাতালে ভর্তি..

A horrific road accident on Hailakandi town bypass road left several school students injured after a head-on collision between an e-rickshaw (AS 24 ER 4274) and an auto-rickshaw (AS 24 AC 2598). Reports suggest that more than four students were traveling in the e-rickshaw at the time of the accident.

According to eyewitnesses, the collision was severe, causing serious injuries to the students traveling in the e-rickshaw, while the auto-rickshaw reportedly fell into a roadside low-lying area after the impact. Local residents immediately rushed to the scene and rescued the injured, who were later shifted to S.K. Roy Civil Hospital in Hailakandi for treatment.

Residents have alleged that damaged sections of the Hailakandi bypass road, along with reckless driving, are major reasons behind the increasing number of accidents in the area. Police reached the spot, brought the situation under control, seized the two vehicles involved, and launched an investigation. Locals are also demanding stricter administrative measures for road safety and traffic control.
