Spent one at UB City discovering a South Indian breakfast spread that’s only around on weekends — @_madraskitchen has this beautiful thing going where the menu changes just for Sundays, 8 to 11:30 am, and it’s worth setting an alarm for. Thatte idli, benne masala dosa, puliyogare, and a shavige bath that hit exactly right — homely, comforting, the kind of food that doesn’t need much dressing up. Pesarattu was a nice surprise, and the ven pongal and sakkara pongal were good enough that I went back for seconds. What stayed with me was how homely everything tasted despite the setting — proper five-star ambience but the food had that made-with-care quality you don’t always get in hotel breakfasts. Staff were warm, the weather cooperated, and honestly this might be one of the better Sunday mornings I’ve had in a while in this city.
