Cloudburst-like Rain Batters Bonai Block; Sarasara–Fatang Nala Overflows, Traffic Disrupted for Hours
Bonai, June 26: Torrential, cloudburst-like rainfall lashed parts of Bonai block on Friday, triggering a sharp rise in the water level of the Sarasara–Fatang Nala and disrupting road connectivity for several hours.
Following the intense downpour, the nala overflowed, submerging the road and bringing vehicular movement to a complete halt. Commuters and local residents were stranded on both sides of the crossing as authorities advised people to avoid taking risks amid the strong current.
The heavy rainfall caused inconvenience to daily commuters and affected transportation in the area. Traffic resumed only after the water level gradually receded.
Local residents have urged the administration to take long-term measures to improve drainage and ensure uninterrupted connectivity during the monsoon season.
