#Dibrugarh | An electric locomotive trial run was conducted on the Chalkhoa (excluding)–Dibrugarh Town (including) section under the Tinsukia Division of Northeast Frontier Railway on October 7, 2026, marking a significant step in the ongoing railway electrification project.
The trial run was accompanied by an inspection of the electrification works along the section, which covers approximately 6.003 RKM and 9.157 TKM.
The electrification work is being executed by M/s HEC International Limited. The trial is expected to pave the way for electric locomotive operations up to Dibrugarh Town Railway Station (DBRT) and strengthen railway connectivity in the region.
