#News || Ranganadi MLA Rishiraj Hazarika has announced that the Assam government will soon construct a guide bund on the Dikrong River to provide a long-term solution to the recurring flood problem in several villages under South Laluk Gaon Panchayat. According to a social media post by the MLA, the proposed project aims to protect flood-prone areas, including Bongalmora Grazing and Balichapori village, which are affected by overflowing Dikrong waters almost every year. Hazarika said he visited the proposed construction site along with Assam Water Resources Minister Sushanta Borgohain to assess the location and review the current flood situation. Local issues were also discussed, with officials stressing the need for early implementation of the project. The inspection was attended by district officials and BJP leaders.
