A Hyundai Creta carrying three people was swept away by floodwaters near Kandoli Bridge on the Lower Kandoli-Poundha Road in the Premnagar area of Dehradun on early hours of Tuesday, September 1.
Two occupants died in the accident, while one woman was rescued alive with injuries.
The deceased include 20-year-old Akshay, a resident of Jaipur, Rajasthan, and an unidentified young woman.
A State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team from Dakpatthar, led by Additional Sub-Inspector Suresh Tomar, conducted an overnight search and rescue operation in challenging conditions.
Rescuers located the injured survivor, identified as Sahaj Baweja, approximately two kilometers downstream from the site of the incident and transferred her to the police for medical care.
Both recovered bodies were handed over to local police authorities for formal identification and necessary legal procedures.
