💔 On 13 April 1919, one of the darkest chapters in India’s history unfolded at Jallianwala Bagh, Amritsar.
Thousands of unarmed people had gathered on the occasion of Baisakhi when General Dyer ordered his troops to open fire without any warning. Around 1,650 bullets were fired. While the official British record reported 379 deaths, many historians believe that more than 1,000 people lost their lives.
Even today, the bullet-marked walls and the Martyrs’ Well stand as powerful reminders of the sacrifice made for India’s freedom.
🇮🇳 Salute to the brave souls who sacrificed everything for our nation.
