POST-MANALI MARATHON CLEANUP: HEALING HIMALAYAS AND ORGANIZERS DRIVE ZERO-LITTER INITIATIVE ACROSS RACE ROUTE
Kullu Times
Demonstrating a firm commitment to mountain ecology, a comprehensive route cleanup drive was led by Healing Himalayas—the official sustainability partners of the event—in active collaboration with the Municipal Council (MC) Manali and the Manali Marathon team immediately following the conclusion of the event.
The cleanup initiative covered the entire race stretch from Manali up to Goshal, which saw participation from over 980 runners during Sunday’s marathon. Teams worked methodically along the corridor to collect and clear all waste generated during the run, leaving the course completely clean.
Speaking on the green drive, the organizers emphasized that keeping the fragile Himalayan ecosystem waste-free remains a core priority. Under this year’s dedicated green initiative, the Manali Marathon and its partner organizations have enforced a strict zero-littering policy, setting a benchmark for sustainable high-altitude sports events in the region.
