#Dibrugarh | The Sri Sri Jagannath Cultural Trust has announced that the 12th Sri Jagannath Rath Yatra Mahotsav will be celebrated on July 16, 2026, at the Sri Sri Jagannath Temple, Srikshetra, Khanikar, with elaborate religious ceremonies and a grand chariot procession.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, the organisers said the Rath Yatra procession will commence at 2:00 PM from the Sri Sri Jagannath Cultural Complex and proceed to Shri Anukul Satra, Kachomari, before returning to the temple.
The festivities begin on July 14 with Netrotsav and Nabajoubana Darshan, followed by rituals including Mangal Aarti, Nitya Puja, Havan, Radha Puja, Bhog Samarpan, Prasad Seva, and Pahandi on the day of the Rath Yatra. The celebrations will continue with Hera Panchami, Bahuda Yatra, Suna Besha, Adhara Pana, and conclude with Niladri Bije on July 27.
The organisers said the Rath Yatra has become one of the largest spiritual gatherings in Upper Assam over the past 11 years, attracting more than 15,000 devotees from Dibrugarh and neighbouring districts, including Tinsukia, Sivasagar, Charaideo, Lakhimpur, and Dhemaji.
Adding significance to this year’s celebrations, Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya has consented to attend the Rath Yatra programme on July 16.
The organising committee has invited devotees from across the region to participate in the sacred procession with their families and seek the blessings of Lord Jagannath.
