On the 51st anniversary of the Emergency imposed on June 25, 1975, Chandigarh Mayor Saurabh Joshi termed the Emergency a "black day" in India's democratic history. He alleged that the Congress government had suppressed democratic rights and civil liberties during the period.
Referring to Operation Blue Star, the Mayor also criticized the Congress, saying the party had taken decisions that caused deep pain to the nation. He asserted that the Congress had "killed democracy" during the Emergency and therefore had no moral right to lecture others on democratic values. #highlights #LatestNews #emergency #NewsUpdate #followerseveryone #viralpost #highlightseveryone
