Islampur PS, Murshidabad PD. On 02.09.2026 at about 23:00 hrs, acting on specific source information, Police personnel of Islampur PS conducted a raid at the house of Mukhtar Hossain S/O Lt. Hasan Ali, of Keshopur Farajipara under Islampur PS. During the raid, two country-made firearms were recovered from his possession (one 0.303 bore long firearm and one 0.303 bore short firearm). Accordingly, Mukhtar Hossain was arrested and a specific case has been registered vide Islampur PS Case No. 444/2026, dated 03.09.2026, U/S 25(1)(a) of the Arms Act. The accused person will be forwarded before the Ld. Court today.Further investigation proceeds
