Suspicious Youth Assaulted by Mob in Haryana Bhavan Lane , Rourkela; Police Rescue Him in Time Locals Allege He Entered Several Houses and Acted Obscenely; Prompt Police Action Averts Major Incident Rourkela, July 11:(SatyaNewsAlert ) A suspected youth was assaulted by an angry mob after being caught near the lane adjoining Haryana Bhavan in the Daily Market area of Rourkela at around 10 p.m. on Saturday. According to local residents, the youth allegedly entered several houses in the locality and behaved in an obscene and inappropriate manner, triggering panic and outrage among residents. Enraged locals detained him and allegedly thrashed him before police arrived. Upon receiving information, a police team from Plantsite Police Station, acting under the direction of Inspector-in-Charge Vibhatsa Pradhan, rushed to the spot. Young Sub-Inspector Siddhartha Pradhan, along with police personnel, made considerable efforts to rescue the youth from the mob and safely escorted him to the police station. Residents claimed that similar incidents had occurred in the area in the past, which contributed to the public's anger and swift reaction. Police have launched an investigation into the allegations and have urged citizens not to take the law into their own hands, assuring that appropriate legal action will be taken based on the findings of the inquiry.
