#News || The Assam Government and the Assam Cricket Association have officially launched the Assam Premier League (APL), the state’s first major franchise-based T20 cricket tournament, marking a new chapter in Assam’s sporting history.
The league will feature eight franchise teams representing different regions of the state:
Guwahati Royals
Jorhat Stallions
Tezpur Titans
Dibrugarh Warriors
Nagaon Rangers
Barpeta Braves
Charaideo Sunrise
Barak Legends
During the inauguration ceremony, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma officially unveiled the APL logo, team logos, and the tournament trophy.
Calling it a landmark initiative, the Chief Minister said the league will provide a strong platform for grassroots cricketers to showcase their talent and pursue their dream of representing Assam in domestic cricket and India at the national level.
He encouraged aspiring cricketers across the state to continue practicing with dedication, expressing hope that the Assam Premier League will produce future stars for Indian cricket.
