#Dibrugarh | In a major breakthrough against dr#g traffick!ng, Dibrugarh Police conducted a successful an*i-n#rcotics operation under the jurisdiction of Tingkhong Police Station on Friday, leading to the seiz*re of 1.35 kg of suspected her*in, ₹14,06,600 in cash, and two vehicles. The operation was carried out based on specific secret information received by the police. During the search, officers recovered 1.35 kg of suspected hero!n concealed inside 107 soap boxes from a Bolero pickup vehicle and the residential premises of the accused persons. Police also seized ₹14,06,600 in cash, suspected to be proceeds from the ill*gal narcot!cs trade. In addition, a Bolero Pickup (AS06CC2794) and a Mahindra Scorpio were seized during the operation. Two persons have been named in connection with the case. Manoj Gogoi (29), son of Mridul Gogoi and a resident of Mahmora Kapouhuwa under Tingkhong Police Station, is currently absconding. His wife, Gulapi Gogoi, has been apprehended by the police. A case has been registered, and efforts are underway to trace and arrest the absconding accused. Police are also investigating the source of the suspected contraband and possible links to a wider dr*g traff!cking network.
