Two newly reconstructed gas-operated cremation furnaces at Chowkidinghee Smasan in Dibrugarh were inaugurated by the donors on Tuesday, 22 September 2026.
The inauguration ceremony was organised by the Chowkidinghee Smasan Sanskar Samiti and was attended by members of the donor families, including Munshiram Agarwalla, Rajendra Agarwalla, Ratan Kumar Agarwalla, Nikhil Agarwalla, Dr Siddharth Sahewalla and Sunil Harlalka, along with members of the Samiti and other dignitaries.
The newly reconstructed furnaces are expected to provide an improved, efficient and dignified cremation facility for the residents of Dibrugarh and the surrounding areas.
The Chowkidinghee Smasan Sanskar Samiti led by President Amar Roy and Secretary Nirmal Garodia expressed its sincere gratitude to the donors for their generous support and contribution towards the development and upliftment of the Smasan.
