Rail services on Mumbai’s Trans Harbour Line were temporarily suspended after heavy rainfall caused soil beneath the tracks to wash away, affecting railway operations. Services in both directions were halted as railway teams rushed to inspect the damaged section and carry out restoration work.

Commuters faced major delays during peak hours, with authorities working to resume services as quickly as possible while ensuring passenger safety.

Mumbai woke up to waterlogged roads and heavy rainfall as intense showers lashed several parts of the city. The IMD has issued a red alert for Mumbai and Palghar, warning of very heavy rain, thunderstorms and wind speeds of up to 60 kmph.

Authorities have advised residents to stay alert as more rain is expected through the day, with traffic disruptions and waterlogging likely in low lying areas.
