Derabassi Crowned District-Level U-14 Cricket Champions
Outstanding team performance helps Derabassi win the title among nine participating teams
Derabassi’s U-14 cricket team, led by captain Yuvraj Singh, emerged as the champions of the District-Level U-14 Cricket Tournament after putting up an excellent all-round team performance.
A total of nine teams — Derabassi, Banur, Kurali, Zirakpur, Jhanjheri, Mohali, Mullanpur, Sohana and Kharar — participated in the tournament.
Derabassi began its campaign on September 2 by defeating Banur in the opening match. On the same day, the team defeated Kurali in the quarter-final to qualify for the semi-final.
On September 3, Derabassi defeated Mohali in the semi-final to book a place in the final. Captain Yuvraj Singh contributed with an unbeaten innings in the semi-final, helping the team post a strong total.
In the final, Derabassi defeated Zirakpur to clinch the District-Level U-14 Cricket Tournament title.
The team’s success was the result of a strong collective performance, teamwork and coordination among the batsmen, bowlers and fielders. Derabassi finished first among the nine teams and secured the Gold Medal.
