Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha , met Padma Bhushan awardee Shri Dr. S. K. M. Maeilanandhan, renowned social worker, entrepreneur, and advocate of public health and spiritual education, in the presence of Joint Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, Ms. Alarmelmangai D.
Dr. Maeilanandhan has dedicated his life to community service through free medical aid, child welfare, women empowerment, and the upliftment of marginalized communities. At the age of 82, he continues to lead impactful grassroots initiatives in yoga and preventive healthcare.
His movement has inspired nearly 1 crore people to adopt yoga, is supported by a network of over 20,000 trained yoga instructors, has directly benefited more than 1.75 lakh individuals, and has contributed to transforming over 400 villages into healthier and more aware communities through door-to-door outreach, medical camps, and yoga training programmes.
Appreciating his extraordinary contribution to community wellness, Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha lauded his efforts as an inspiring model of community-led transformation and holistic healthcare.
