From the Himalayas to the Coast, Vande Bharat is Redefining India’s Rail Network
India’s Vande Bharat Express has rapidly expanded across the country, connecting major cities from north to south and west to east with faster, safer, and more comfortable travel. Key routes now include New Delhi–Varanasi, New Delhi–Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, Anand Vihar–Dehradun, Anand Vihar–Ayodhya Cantt, Amritsar–Old Delhi, Mumbai–Gandhinagar, Mumbai CSMT–Shirdi, Mumbai CSMT–Madgaon,Amdavad–Jodhpur, Chennai–Mysuru, Secunderabad–Visakhapatnam, Bengaluru–Dharwad, Thiruvananthapuram–Kasaragod, Howrah–New Jalpaiguri, Howrah–Puri, Howrah–Patna, and New Jalpaiguri–Guwahati. The latest milestone is the Srinagar–Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Vande Bharat, which crosses the iconic Chenab Bridge, bringing Kashmir closer to the rest of the nation.
As of 2026, India operates 164 Vande Bharat services connecting 274 districts, with Indian Railways aiming to run 800 Vande Bharat trains by 2030 and build a network of 4,500 trainsets by 2047 marking a transformative era in the country’s railway infrastructure.
