Going viral may win attention. Credibility is what makes people listen.
That’s the message Priyanshi Sharma, Co-Founder of PeekTV, left students with at Parul University’s Journalism Fest, as she spoke about how journalism is changing in an age of instant news and shrinking attention spans, and why telling an engaging story still has to mean staying true to facts, objectivity, and the responsibility that comes with reporting.
Then came the real test. Two student teams were handed a live news reporting challenge, with just 60 seconds to prepare before going on camera. No scripts to fall back on, no time to overthink it, just their ideas, their angle, and the confidence to deliver it live. It’s moments like these that push students to think on their feet and find out what they’re capable of when there’s no second take.
