#Assam | Demonstrating the true spirit of Seva (selfless service), members of the Sikh community have stepped forward to support flood-affected families taking shelter at a relief camp in Sivasagar. With over 200 families currently residing at the camp, the community has started a free mobile charging langar, ensuring displaced people can stay connected with their loved ones and access emergency information. The initiative has brought much-needed relief to families who have been without electricity due to the flood situation. Volunteers have arranged charging stations where residents can charge their mobile phones free of cost throughout the day. Alongside the Sikh community’s efforts, the Government of Assam and several voluntary organisations and local groups are continuing to provide food, drinking water, medical assistance, and other essential relief materials to those affected by the floods. The mobile charging langar has been widely appreciated by camp residents, as communication remains one of the most critical needs during disasters.
