#ASSAM | Assam is set to get a new road-cum-rail bridge over the Brahmaputra River, with the project expected to be completed by 2029. The Railways has awarded the contract for the ambitious infrastructure project to L&T Construction Ltd. The bridge is estimated to cost around ₹1,400 crore. The project aims to improve connectivity by strengthening both road and rail networks across the Brahmaputra, providing a major boost to transportation in Assam. According to railway officials, the bridge component alone is estimated at ₹530 crore, and efforts are underway to complete the work within the scheduled timeline.
