MLA Marks Birthday by Repairing Dilapidated Bridge, Highlights Public Neglect Biramitrapur, July 9 (SatyaNewsAlert): Instead of celebrating his birthday with a cake-cutting ceremony or festivities, Biramitrapur MLA Rohit Joseph Tirkey chose to spend the day repairing the long-neglected Dalki Bridge, turning the occasion into a symbolic protest against administrative inaction. Armed with a shovel and spade, the MLA personally participated in the repair work through shramdaan (voluntary labour), drawing widespread attention from local residents and public representatives. The Dalki Bridge has reportedly remained in a dilapidated condition for a long time, with repeated demands for its repair. However, as no concrete action was taken by the administration, the MLA decided to undertake the repair work himself on his birthday to highlight the issue and press for immediate intervention. The programme witnessed the participation of several public representatives from Rajgangpur and Kuarmunda. Among those present were Rajgangpur representative Anil Barwa Kishan, Kuarmunda MLA's representative Mahesh Sahu, Kuarmunda Block Vice-Chairperson Sunita Ahir, Kuarmunda Block Chairman Manoj Das, and Biramitrapur Municipality Vice-Chairperson Nibedita Bage. Sarpanches, Samiti members, and BJD leaders and workers from Dalki, Salangabahal, and other parts of the Biramitrapur constituency also joined the MLA in the bridge repair work, expressing solidarity with the initiative and reiterating the demand for permanent restoration of the bridge.
