Heavy rainfall has worsened the flood situation across Bihar, with the Ganga, Kosi, Gandak, Budhi Gandak and Punpun rivers flowing above the danger mark at several locations. All 69 gates of the Sone Barrage at Indrapuri in Rohtas have been opened, with water discharge reaching around 5.59 lakh cusecs. Authorities are monitoring the situation and shifting people from vulnerable low-lying areas to safer locations. Rising Ganga levels have also affected parts of Patna, where shops and roadside stalls along JP Ganga Path have been submerged. Water released from barrages, along with heavy rainfall and inflow from Nepal, has increased the flood threat across several districts. No deaths were reported at the time of the report.
