A viral social media stunt at Patna Junction has sparked widespread public outrage and exposed major security concerns after a content creator, Shivam Gupta, impersonated a Traveling Ticket Examiner (TTE).
Wearing a convincing fake uniform complete with a black coat, trousers, and a fraudulent ID card, Gupta conducted a 30-minute “experiment” to see how much money he could extract from ticketless travelers.
He successfully fleeced passengers out of ₹1,200, demanding around ₹500 from victims, all while completely unnoticed by actual railway authority or security personnel. The video went viral after being flagged by the @JharkhandRail account on X (formerly Twitter), drawing heavy criticism from users who pointed out the severe security lapse and the illegality of impersonating a public servant. In response to the backlash, the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Danapur acknowledged the incident and confirmed that strict legal action is being initiated against the creator.
