#NEWS | Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday, June 21, announced the launch of the Assam Premier League (APL), a new state-level cricket tournament aimed at providing a platform for emerging cricketers and strengthening the state’s sporting ecosystem.
Sharing the development on social media platform X, Sarma described the league as a significant opportunity for aspiring cricketers across Assam.
“Good news for budding cricketers of Assam! Launched the Assam Premier League, our own cricket league where eight teams will vie for glory,” the Chief Minister said.
He lauded the efforts of the Assam Cricket Association (ACA) in establishing the tournament, stating that the league would help identify and promote talent from the grassroots level.
