Fact Check: Viral Lenin Letter Is Fake
A purported letter allegedly written by Vladimir Lenin to Lord Louis Mountbatten and dated 14 August 1947 is being circulated online. However, the document is clearly fabricated.
Lenin died on 21 January 1924, more than two decades before the alleged letter date. The document also uses the name “Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU),” which was adopted only in 1952; in 1947, the party was officially known as the All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks) — VKP(b).
Verdict: FALSE & FABRICATED.
