The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has immediately suspended the food business registration of China Town Fast Food Centre in Gawan Pada, Mulund East, Mumbai, following serious food safety and hygiene violations. Officials found excessive use of artificial colours and MSG, repeatedly used oxidised cooking oil, cockroach and insect infestation, uncovered cooked rice stored in an unhygienic area, rusty and dirty utensils, cross-contamination risks between vegetarian and non-vegetarian food, and poor drainage resulting in sewage accumulation and foul odour.
