#Dibrugarh | The team of the upcoming Assamese political comedy XYZ visited Dibrugarh on thursday as part of the film’s promotional campaign ahead of its statewide release on July 24. Directed by Himanshu Prasad Das, XYZ promises a fresh and humorous take on electoral politics while reflecting the everyday struggles and aspirations of ordinary citizens. Blending satire with entertainment, the film aims to present contemporary social and political issues through comedy. During the promotional event, the cast and crew interacted with media and audiences, urging movie lovers to support Assamese cinema by watching the film in theatres. They expressed confidence that XYZ would connect with viewers through its relatable story, engaging performances, and light-hearted treatment of serious themes. The film is scheduled for a grand theatrical release across Assam on July 24.

#Dibrugarh | Marwari Yuva Manch, Dibrugarh, inaugurated its 20th Amrit Dhara (Pure Cold Drinking Water Plant) at Shree Gopal Goshala, T.R. Phukan Road, Chiring Chapori, on Thursday. The programme began with a puja, followed by the formal inauguration of the water plant and a felicitation ceremony for the donors and the President of Shree Gopal Goshala in recognition of their support. The Amrit Dhara was dedicated to the memory of Late Sri Bimal Bagra (Jain) through the generous contribution of Srimati Sarita Devi Bagra, Sri Vikash Bagra, Sri Vishal Bagra, and Sri Aditya Bagra of R.R. & Co. Pvt. Ltd., Dibrugarh. The event was attended by members of the organisation, dignitaries, and well-wishers. Marwari Yuva Manch stated that the installation of the drinking water plant reflects its ongoing commitment to public welfare by providing access to clean and safe drinking water, while reaffirming its dedication to undertaking more such community service initiatives.

#Dibrugarh | Around 50–60 people from Jonai in Dhemaji district were admitted to Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) after allegedly suffering from suspected food poisoning following a traditional Nam-Kirtan held as part of a birthday celebration. The religious programme was organised on June 30, where devotees and local residents were served prasad comprising moong, gram (boot), bundiya, bhujiya, and fruits. According to reports, no one complained of illness immediately after the event. However, nearly 12 hours later, from July 1 onwards, several attendees began experiencing symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhoea, and stomach discomfort, prompting their admission to AMCH for treatment. Health officials are monitoring the condition of the patients, while the exact cause of the suspected food poisoning is yet to be confirmed. An investigation is underway.
