Before Lalbaugcha Raja became one of Mumbai’s most famous Ganpatis, there was a much simpler story.
A community of fishermen, vendors and traders had lost their marketplace. They prayed for a place where they could continue their livelihoods. When that wish was fulfilled, they installed Bappa in gratitude in 1934.
Decades later, millions still come to Lalbaug with their own hopes, prayers and navas.
Maybe that is what makes the story of Lalbaugcha Raja so special.
A story that began with a community’s livelihood became a tradition carried by generations. ❤️
