In the first chapter of Celebrating Our Heroes from Dehradun, we sat down with someone who has lived the meaning of service. And we asked him a simple question, one that holds a lifetime of stories within it:
Do soldiers ever stop being soldiers?
He spoke about the homesickness of his early years, leaving home and slowly finding a new one in the life of a soldier. And then came the thought that stayed with us: you never really stop being a soldier.
Because somewhere along the way, it becomes a part of who you are. The uniform may come off, but the soldier stays.
This Independence Day, we’re listening to the stories of the heroes who lived the meaning of service. Follow and stay tuned.
Some heroes don’t ask to be remembered. But their stories deserve to be. 🇮🇳
