A massive consignment of weapons has been seized in Ghazipur—a haul significant enough to put the police on high alert!
Not just one or two... a staggering 38 illegal weapons!
The cache included 18 .32-bore pistols, one 9mm pistol, and 19 country-made pistols, along with 18 live cartridges.
A major question arises: how did such a large consignment reach Ghazipur?
And the most critical question of all—who was supposed to receive this delivery?
The incident came to light near the Kaithwaliya culvert. Acting on a tip-off, a joint team comprising the SWAT unit, the surveillance wing, and the Kotwali police laid a trap around 1:45 AM.
Three suspects were spotted near a motorcycle. Upon seeing the police, they attempted to flee but were cornered and apprehended.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Ratan Vishwakarma and Ravi Kumar (residents of Bhadaura, Gahmar police station area) and Abhishek Kumar (a resident of Phulli, Dildarnagar police station area, Ghazipur). All three are reported to be between 19 and 20 years of age.
During interrogation, it was revealed that the weapons were brought from Khandwa and Burhanpur in Madhya Pradesh for delivery in Ghazipur.
Now, the key questions driving the police investigation are—
Who is behind this consignment of 38 weapons? Who was the intended recipient? And how many people are involved in this network?
According to the police, a search is underway for two other wanted suspects.
