Yhome credited the state’s teachers for the achievement, highlighting their dedication and sustained efforts in driving Nagaland’s educational progress.

He said Nagaland’s literacy rate stood at just 21.95 per cent in 1963, when the state attained statehood. The state now ranks third nationally, behind Kerala and Mizoram.

The Teachers’ Day celebration in Kohima also honoured educators for their contribution to the state’s educational development.
