Circuit House Arms Seizure Case Takes New Turn; Police Hunt for BJP Youth Leader
Rourkela, August 22 (SatyaNewsAlert): The investigation into the seizure of a pistol and ammunition from the Rourkela Circuit House has taken a new turn, with the name of BJP youth leader Prakash Paswan emerging in connection with the case.
Seven persons have already been arrested in connection with the incident. During the course of the investigation, questions were reportedly raised over the alleged role of a BJP youth leader in arranging accommodation for the arrested persons at the Circuit House. The leader has now been identified as Prakash Paswan.
Police reportedly seized a vehicle allegedly used by Paswan on Friday and are conducting further inquiries into his possible involvement in the case. Two of his associates are also being questioned at the police station as investigators seek to establish the sequence of events and determine the roles of those allegedly connected with the incident.
Police had planned to bring Paswan to the station for questioning. However, he has reportedly not been traced so far. Three police teams have been deployed in different parts of the state and outside Odisha to locate him.
According to preliminary information available to the police, Paswan may have travelled to Delhi. Following the information, a police team is reportedly preparing to proceed to Delhi as part of the search operation.
Congress Stages Protest, Demands Impartial Probe
Meanwhile, demanding a fair and impartial investigation into the Circuit House arms seizure case, the Rourkela District Congress staged a protest in front of the Superintendent of Police's office on Saturday.
Congress president Sabir Hussain praised the police for the seizure of the arms and ammunition from the Circuit House and demanded stringent action against all persons found to be involved in the incident.
The Congress leadership also called for a transparent investigation to ensure that every individual connected with the case is identified and dealt with in accordance with the law.
The police investigation is currently underway, and further details are awaited.
